I don't know for sure, but when I look at his egg I am thinking his mother is Buff Orpington, so he might be a pure Buff. I haven't seen my Buckeye mount the buff hens.

So the Buckeye would prefer the Marans hens? If that is true then I would probably have a Buckeye/Marans chick. Which is exciting, Buckeyes are beautiful and Marans lay some very pretty eggs!

My Buckeye and Marans grew up together, so he definitely prefers the ones he's grown up with, so the Wyandottes, Sussex, and Marans.

It is time for me to do another hatch-a-long! My last one was Avenger's themed as a memorial to my hen, Buck (aka Bucky Barnes), who had passed.

This time it is not a memorial, just a hatching of eggs. And this time I will have some Frost White Legbar eggs in it, I'm excited! They will be the first Legbars I ever hatch, if they make it.

The theme of this hatch-a-long is going to be How to Train Your Dragon themed!

I am still collecting eggs, and I plan on waiting to start incubation until I have a few Legbar eggs. I have 1 so far, and I believe only one of my hens are laying. So some eggs may change to Legbar eggs after all are collected.

I have all 22, but I plan on replacing some with Legbar eggs.. 8 is the Legbar egg. Parents of all the eggs attached.
