Hey @Shadrach Lookie what I am having done...

House is only about a grand total of a thousand square feet The floor being redone is about 750 square feet. That includes kitchen living room and bedroom.

When the contractor pulled the carpets up he found a full one and a half inch difference between the floors on one side and the other. Mitigated by Drywall plaster and Bondo. Worse case we re do the sub floor complete because its mostly really crappy OSB and particle board. Or we keep the half inch of ply wood that seems to go throughout on one side and Add another layer of half inch plywood. The otherside will probably be replaced with an appropriate thickness to make the whole floor flat.

I would love a ceramic tile floor or a Farmhouse floor. My next choice is an engineered plank floor wich snaps together. Its water proof and scuff resistant vinyl. and looks like hickory. Area rugs to protect from high traffic and furniture and will allow me to have them hauled off to have cleaned and lend a bit of color to the room.

Oh and the floors are not the only thing being worked on. I am getting a new kitchen, A real front door to replace a sliding glass door entry and a pantry in that alcove seen with the narrow window. It will be six feet by eleven feet long. and should hold all my canning projects as well as bulk items.

For what its worth the nearest grocery store for me is a sixty mile drive. So Big refrigerator and freezer for the kitchen. Dry goods and home canned and store bought canned goods will be my go to for meals.

And of course fresh eggs and the occasional crop of extra cockrels. along side of Muscovy which can be treated as beef.

It's massive! For some reason I thought it was much smaller. I hope your builders make a decent job of it for you. How long until you can move in?
Did you consider pouring a concrete floor? Mine is a bit rough, but done right and polished up they can look fantastic. It looks as if you have sufficient depth for a decent thickness of concrete.

I could do with a pantry at my house. I did consider it but the cost was too much.
