Finally figured out why my special needs chicken is special.. I can't believe I'm just now noticing it. Her feet are so heavily feathered it's really not a wonder though.

I was grooming her (she can't groom herself) and I noticed that Pinecone only has 2 1/2 toes on each foot. Looks like a birth defect. I'll try to get a picture later.

Bless her little heart. She didn't need all those supplements and iso for possible Marek's and everything else. She's just a tumbleweed who's constantly giving the peace sign with both feet. 🤗

Is her carcass normal? Often there is quite a few defects when they show up

Her posture is horrible (think displaying tom turkey) but no other defects on the outside. Possibly her spine making her posture bad? Not sure. I'll feel her up again tomorrow. She's had enough today and is in her bed.

I had a Delaware cockerel with scissor beak with bad posture. When I processed him, he had curved spinal bones and a small pinched cavity.

I do not know if it was genetic but definitely a birth deffect

For sure! I have a strong feeling she's got a curved spine and possible internal malformations.

If she ever stops talking to me and eating like a hog... Oh and dust bathing.. (She actually attempts it. It's rather pitiful to watch, but it makes me smile seeing her act like a chicken) I'll put her down. So far she's content and in good condition though.

She sounds like a character!

I would keep her too if she is doing well.
