Get goats. They will keep the grass down! And they're fun to watch.

Tried that route, was a no go. I've had goats before, love them, super useful for turning poor prairie into good graze, but couldn't talk DH into building a goat house, nor putting in a fence that would keep them in, and we're on a highway frontage road - 1000 feet off the road, but 1000 feet is all in a day's work for goats LOL
