Our bales are around 75 to 80 lbs. We are careful to buy hay that is clean and mold free since its inside the coops. It's also full of grass seed that we spread around our 2 acres to thicken the lawn. It works surprisingly well!

The Princess and I just returned from seeing "The Mustang". I know this is not the movie thread, but this is a good movie - based on the prisoner/mustang rehabilitation program conducted in some of the western states.

Absolutely. It's not an all feel good sort of movie but hits upon the human/animal interaction and hopes for redemption on some level. Even though I realize the need, I hate the idea of mustang roundup/slaughter.

I've heard good things about that movie. There is a similar program back in Louisiana's Angola prison where certain inmates train riding horses for sale to the public. They are highly desirable and sell for big bucks.
