It counts my vacuum cleaning strokes as steps, so who knows?

It does depend on the motion of the hands. Some motions will count as steps. I got a lot of steps once on a long drive LOL!

It counts all sorts of things, like stairs. One day I had a whole bunch of stairs but couldn't figure out why.

I usually get 10 floors a day. We have stairs in the house and I am working from up here. When I am on campus, the building it 3 stories and I have to go up to the different floors each day so often get more than 10 floors a day.

I am currently at 2 floors
