I’ve never had mackerel I don’t think but zero desire to try it 😂🤣🤢🤮

And I only like my tuna canned and drenched in mayo or cheese (been putting it in Mac lately) :lau

Working on that 🤣
If I eat canned meat, I usually opt for chicken. I may have canned tuna once or twice a year????

Edit to remove question I already figured out lol

I have to ask, how do you maintain your mineral balances? Potassium, magnesium, calcium in particular without vegetables? Do you supplement?
Dh may be sensitive, he eats mostly carnivore but he's celiac. It can cause malabsorption issues. He's had some heart palpitation issues prior to carnivore. He had what appeared to be atrial fibrillation last fall. We added salt, a calcium/magnesium/D3 supplement, and electrolytes, it corrected and he's been fine. Now that I drink electrolyte drinks on occasion, I can see I was missing something prior to carnivore but I think it's salt. When I had gestational diabetes, the advice given to me was incorrect and I was instructed to go on a low salt/salt-free diet. I've been salting my food more than usual the last few weeks. I haven't had cramps (magnesium) or anything amiss. Most of my family eat homegrown produce and their own meat and I've strongly mentioned the importance of electrolytes and especially salt to them, carnivore or not. A cousin and my son have had heart concerns before carnivore and we've updated with electrolytes. I've always understood the importance of Cal/Mag/Phos in regards to smooth muscle function with prolapsing in livestock. But since being in the carnivore community, I've come to have a new respect for electrolytes and their application in livestock and poultry. Instead of vitamins, I use electrolytes for livestock (which also has vitamins) and have corrected splay leg and crooked toes in chicks.

I hate mackerel and not really a big fan of tuna unless it’s raw or rare steak 😂
I used to think it was only good for bait! My husband loves sardines, they're okay... Mackerel was a compromise and my kids all LOVE it. I stock it in our emergency rations and replace as needed. I like to make cakes from them with an egg binder, kids eat it straight from the can, 😂. Little weirdos just like thier Dad.

I grew up eating cakes 1-2x per week! Mom made them with tuna and grandma made them with salmon. Mr muddy makes them for me with crab or catfish

Yes, magnesium is used in over 2000 bodily processes and you can't live without it. Potassium helps regulate salt, and in turn how water passes through cells, each one is like a key to get through one side of a door. Calcium helps muscle contract and magnesium helps it relax. All so very vital to healthy cardiac function. Lite salt is a good add in to get more potassium if you don't already use it.
I'm being nosey because I'm a nutrition student, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. Are you type one or type two diabetic? I've seen full remission for type two on low carb, but always including good amounts of vegetables, especially dark leafy greens.
