It worked! looks like a wild rabbit to me. Probably best to try to clean its wounds now while it's in shock, like @Awakening Forest suggested, so it doesn't try to resist you. It seems to be an adult as well.

Ya. My cat had a bird recently. It was in shock so I did not bring it inside, I put it in the garage in a cardboard box, and put leaves twigs and sticks around the box, plus a heating pad hidden on the bottom. I managed to save the bird but it was a difficult thing to do- it’s only injuries where some broken pin feathers, but I was afraid it would die of shock or maybe a hidden injuryl

He does look pretty weak.
I would try to give him some water with a dropper, and wrap a towel around him because he is probably in shock and will be cold. If you have pedialyte or some type kind of electrolytes to put in his water It might help.

I was unsuccessful saving what a lady told me was a duck (clearly not one lol) it had fallen out of its nest and injured itself pretty bad, it lasted a couple days but it was having trouble breathing so it passed away in its sleep (This happened a few years before this recent bird)

Sorry that you lost that one. I'm sure you did an excellent job caring for it, though!

Yes, she is ashamed of it, but after the run in with the rooster a few years back, she has never stepped foot near the coop

It is colored like a wild rabbit.
It looks old enough to eat and drink by itself (if healthy), but not fully mature yet.

If it truly is a wild rabbit, then trying to tend the wounds or give fluids from a dropper might be very stressful for the rabbit (because wild animals tend to be really afraid of people.) It could hurt itself or you if it struggles.

I suggest either kill it, take it to a vet to be euthanized, or try to find a wildlife-rescue group in your area that might be able to give advice.

I know that trying to help wild animals brings up problems that tame ones don't, but I do not know enough to address those problems. (Problems certainly include "it might panic, and may hurt both you and itself" and "it might have parasites or diseases.")

Beautiful rabbit, I’m so sorry that you found it. But I’m glad you did so you can try and save it’s life. If it does make it, I would not release it. It seems in bad shape. If possible I would keep it as a house rabbit- this is my opinion assuming that this rabbit will not fully recover. Please release it somewhere safe if it does

After realizing this is a wild rabbit... maybe keeping it as a house rabbit isn’t a good idea
