Anyone ever use Vaseline or Bag Balm on chicken legs and feet for scale mites??

I think I went overboard. They keep falling off the roost.

The mental image rn:

Chickens, standing unassumingly on the roost, feet slathered in vaseline. Suddenly (almost cartoon-like) they start sliding around the roost (which I'm imagining as round) with their feet still attached. So then they're hanging upside down by their feet, and then they fall XD

They’re square. And they slip and slide off the front. Flapping to beat hell trying to stay upright on the way to the floor.
