🦆 The DUX has woken up! 🦆

After thinking about your video Frank I did have a Drake that had to have done the same thing by taking the newborn duckling out of the nest to take it out to drown it. There was no way that it could have climbed out being newborn and ended up in the middle of my pen in a puddle drowned. He had to have picked it up in the same manner as Sunny. Strange what they are capable of doing.
In the group of my first ducks, Indian Runners, there was one duck who loved to collect little rocks, threw these into their pool and watch them sink. She particularly enjoyed flat rocks with irregular shapes that would move sideways back and forth while sinking.
But i am still surprised by the level of planning and following through: Grab duckling by the neck, drag it to the edge of the water, lift it over the edge and the set it down on the ground and release it.
She did not just dropped the little one, she sat it down on the ground.

The ducklings an i found a new game: »Roll the peas!«
Sunny's ducklings are the most relaxed ducklings ever!
This evening i was busy baking German Plum-Pancakes…
full

Sunny was busy running away from some sassy drakes and the ducklings became bored an hungry, so they decided to go and visit that friendly giant humon inside of the humon-house ask him for some fun activity and something to eat…

Earlier we got some necessary rain here in Big Chimney and thank's to the force of the DUX it was not as bad here as elsewhere. The DUX let the derecho fell apart right in front of us. I finished re-organizing the porch in time, so Sunny and her ducklings were able to snack out before the weather show started.

Reminds me of that game, Hungry Hungry Hippos!

Also, now I'm hungry too! I want some of that pancake!

Is it possible to overfeed ducklings with peas?

The duxlings played Pea-Bowling with me this evening: I roll a bunch of peas across the floor-mat and they play the bowling pins…
They barfed down a whole can of peas in no time, then fell asleep wherever they were just standing. They literally just sat down, head fell forward or sideways and they were in deep sleep mode. They didn't even woke up when i touched them and barely protested when i picked them up. 😯
I "collected" them and laid them all into the nest-box as a duxling pile. There they slept for about an hour, hobbled three steps backwards, lifted their little butts and opened fire…💥
Sunny Duck looked weird at me. 🤔
