🦆 The DUX has woken up! 🦆

Ducklings grow too fast... Not as fast as goslings, but still too fast.
Goslings are growing faster than ducklings?! Is that even possible? 😲
When they stomped into my bedroom this morning i could not believe my eyes when i saw that the largest two have almost caught up to their Momma duck!
They will be four weeks old tomorrow.

By a month old, they looked like geese not goslings!

At two weeks old:

Five weeks old:

I don't see the goslings grow up faster than ducklings. - Yes, from the point of view of weight and size they outgrow ducklings but they are already larger when they hatch.
Sunnys ducklings are exactly four weeks old and the largest one is almost as large as Sunny herself. And they all have started to grow their feathers, its just hard to see white feathers on yellow down. Give them another two weeks and they are young ducks, like your six weeks old Gosnagers.

That would have been my luck, out of 11 one time I got 1 Hen but I figured out down the line that my Mallard throws off drakes. Funny how that can happen.
If i remember correctly, two years ago a Missus Mallard taught some of my drakes a lesson: She can fly! - And then land on the back of a much larger drake and rip out neck-feathers left and right as punishment for trying to mess with her.
All my drakes have a great respect for Mallard Ducks!

Hopefully its not the only female in the bunch.
I would not mind having nine additional egg layers! - I'm already half deaf, so additional quacks wouldn't matter… :lau
To my surprise the little one started to click at the end of its peeps today. - Or somebody else was quaxing in perfect sync… 🤔
In my experience, the larger breeds start to quax much earlier than the light breeds, i had White Layer ducklings starting top quax at two weeks…
