I found bloody poops so I did a 5 day Corrid treatment. On the last day of treatment one of my Silkies seemed underweight so we tried electrolytes and probiotics and eventually an eyedropper with yolk mixed vitamin water. Still died 2 days later, along with one that I sold that was loosing its balance and then landing on its back until death.

I have one with me that is underweight with pasty butt and one I sold is having balance issues like the first one she lost. Help!!

Often with coccidiosis, if that's what this is, there is also bacterial infection that Corid alone cannot treat as it's not an antibiotic and only blocks vitamin B-1 that coccidia feed on.

When coccidia are especially corrosive to the intestinal lining, it creates conditions for bacteria to colonize the intestines and the result can be permanent damage, often ending in death. Whenever blood is seen in the stools, I always recommend treating with a sulfa antibiotic in addition to Corid, especially when the birds are acting very sick. Along with that, a drench dose of Corid in addition to the other treatment can often save a very sick chicken. The drench dose consists of undiluted Corid at .1ml per pound of weight syringed into the beak once a day for three days.

What kind of Sulfa Antibiotics would you recommend and where would it be purchased? I’ve only seen an option on cheery.com and I doubt that would get here in time.
