I have a transition brooder next to incubator where Mallard is and when mallard peeps for me it gets loud and then cayuga peeps and mallard does that cute tilt and walks towards incubator and starts encouraging his buddy. It will be such a joyous time to be a part of their uniting!!Can’t wait to see the little one!! Can the little Mallard here the duckling in the shell?
I have an update pic on the color i was trying to describe...can you see it better now? Let me know if this is normal color or if not what this indicatesSounds like you have another one working on giving this little one a buddy soon.
Aww Mallard sure is!! Thank you. Cayuga is making more progress. I am keeping a close eye on it along with mallardReally hard for me to see but if you are worried you can put some coconut oil on the membrane with a atip. I bet the Mallard is in the rooting section!!
Yes its actually getting whiter as time goes onIf the little Cayuga is making progress then membrane must be okay!!
Yes and actually since my message i noticed it turning yellow. So weird...i see its black bill..so good...seeming like its struggling breaking through the external membrane...White is good, and the duckling is actively working on hatching?
Sweet baby!Oh my goodness!! What does imprinting mean during this process? I missed that in my reading up on incubating and hatching..lol...that makes total sense though with the way he is soooo upset when he cant see me! Here is a pic of the cutie!!
