Hi , I help take care of chickens and they are not all 3 laying eggs. It seems that 1 of them lays an egg every day. We thinks it's the Road Island Red. The other 2 are What he calls blondie's but one has Red in her feathers. I call her Strawberry. The 2 blondies are not laying eggs every day and he is ready to switch them out. What should we do I think Strawberry is young and that's why she hasn't played eggs every day. I love the chickens and I get attached to them . How old are they when they lay eggs and when do they lay them every day. He's had these 3 for about 1 month. He's had other chickens before these 3 . Please if anyone has sone good advice I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance. 🙂🐓🐓🐓

Wow, not much patience there, eh?
But if they're not your birds, it's not up to you.

Need to know breeds of birds and their ages.
Pics might help.
Diet, housing, and climate can have an affect too.

But not all birds lay every single day....many do not.
As @Blooie sez: "They're not pez dispensers" :gig

Oh, and..... Welcome to BYC! @Loveslittlefeet
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

I think the only reason my Leghorn hybrids have layed straight through is because they are young. Next winter they will probably take a break like most older hens. Don't be disheartened, but as Aart said they are not yours. I would urge some patience though you may not have any control over it. He probably sees feed going in and nothing coming back to him. Good luck...

Welcome to BYC. A lot depends upon breed and age of the birds. Not all breeds lay daily, and aged hens lay less frequently. Birds that are not daily layers generally have a longer productive life span than the high production birds.

:welcome :frowPictures would help. The bird referred to as blondie is probably Buff Orpington. Years ago I raised Buff Orpingtons and they were not my best layers. Maybe it's time for you to get some birds for yourself. Good luck and have fun...

I have non-hatchery Leghorns (heritage) older females. They are my best layers and lay pretty much all year long. My Rhode Island Whites are my great brown egg layers.
