I'm a new chickeneer with 6 hens and 1 rooster ( all different breeds and all between 7 and 9 months old)
This morning when I let then out of the coop, there was blood splatter on the outside of their feeder (a fair bit and feeder was knocked off Hanger and sitting on ground) some blood on run ground and blood spray covering the walls of one of the nesting boxes.
I inspection all my birds and one has a wound on the top of her head beside her comb and lots of dried blood. The others have no sign of blood except 1 with maybe a little on face.
Assuming she somehow injured herself or perhaps escaped a predator attack, them once the others saw blood, they maybe pecked at her. Noone bothered her all day.
I guess I'm wondering what ur thoughts are on what might have happened and if there's anything I should do now. I went out at sunset, took her off the roost and poured warm water on her and wiped her off. (Since I can't catch her during the day) hopefully I didn't make it worse or open it up.
