Hello
I got 4 baby chicks in May.
On Monday, I cockledoidled. We rehomed it on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, another cockledoidled. We got an angry note from neighbor.
We rehomed it Saturday.
Today, the am was quiet. But I heard two cockledoodles.

That leaves 1 hen.

I have 1 hen. Can I introduce 2 more or should I get 3?

Not really, I believe chickens should always have conpanions( if you are able to get them!:D). Quantity doesn’t matter(imo), either... as long as they have each other, they should be okay!! Good luck!!:highfive:

I would definitely get her more friends. Chickens love company. I would try to get some that are roughly the same age as her, or younger. If there are older hens that all know each other already before they are introduced to her, they might gang up on her a bit at first, which would be an issue.

As far as getting two or three more, I'd get three, or more if you are allowed to. I like bigger flocks so even if something happens (predator attack, an illness that requires me to remove one bird from the others) there are still plenty of others around for company for remaining birds. But I live in the country where there are no restrictions on chickens, and flock size is really personal preference anyway.
