So I have a main pen area for my 9 female quails and I raise them for eggs. I give them a layer hen feed for chickens, but the packaging says not to feed to males. Because of this, I put a smaller pen that gives my singular male pen view of the 9 females but he is separated by wire fencing and he give him quail feed. Will this make him lonely even though he can see them?

Can you take a picture of this feed package please?

They say not to feed to males because of the added calcium. If you are concerned, you can get an all flock feed and provide calcium in the form of egg or oyster shell on the side. The hens will eat what they need and the male won't eat it.

I hope these are good pictures let me know if you need more pics.

They have to label the bag not for males because it isn’t optimally balanced for their needs (he is not a laying hen) but it is impossible to feed an optimal feed to a mixed pen: you are going to have to compromise if you want to keep hens/Roos together and I’d err on the side of the male getting too much calcium vs your girls not getting enough. Be careful with ‘mixed flock or all flock’ feeds as the calcium and protein aren’t usually adequate for laying quail hens.
