I lost my Roo and Turkey tom last week, Two nights ago I lost 14 Pheasants, I set up trap's, first night I caught a Cat, and last night a Racoon, The Cat I gave another chance too but Mr Coon well he will not be causing anymore damage here, I'll be trapping for a couple weeks now to try and lessen the load.

I Keep guns in all of my outbuildings so they are close by and ready to go, I have caught all types of preds on the hunt here.

When I leave the dog's out they take care of Business, But They tend to like to sleep beside my bed.

Nice dogs indeed but how did something get your birds with them on duty?
Is that STIHL stuff I spy in that photo?
I got lots of their products here, man killer chain saw as I call it, a couple smaller ones weed trimmers, a tiller and sence I can pull a cord to start anything anymore I purchased their battery operated chain saw, 14 in cut mower and a hedge trimmer I use to keep weeds down in the ditches not to trim headges they are the best thing I have purchased in a very long time as far as quality goes.

Joe, several weeks ago one nite when I was feeding I heard a noise and thought I seen movement in the dark out of my flashlites view,,come to find out it was a raccoon,,which was prompty shot with my trusty 12ga. Last week one eve while doing chores I noticed some rat bait had been eaten because it is green and in chunks,,my first thought was the chickens had sampled some and I expected to see a few dead ones the next day but I put the plastic lid back on the round plastic pail, which was still 1/2 full and put it inside a tub. Next nite again when I was feeding I noticed the plastic pail was opened, and emptied of all the bait. Then I heard something and turned around and there was a sow raccoon laying there 1/2 paralyzed and not able to move. Needless to say she accepted lead to end her misery. Next two nites I seen baby raccoons playing just before dark outside the confines of my Pea Palace avaiary,,they too have now moved on to raccoon heaven via 12 gauge. NOTHING belongs on my property except German Shepherds, Peacocks and a few chickens and I intend to keep it that way. Be vigil and get all of them as once they find a food source they will always come back in desperation,if not for the sheer fact they have easy access to a food source.

I know we had a breeding pair of great horned owls eating all of our poultry. They flew right over my husband's head and completely ignored our great pyrenees one night. They just kept well off the ground and had no problem stealing birds from their roosts. They even came during the day.

Not all predators can be caught and they certainly aren't scared!

That is just some of my Equipment, I have about 4 More Husky Pro Saws, and bigger tractors, Yes that is the top of the line Blower,Pole Saw and weed whacker all Stihl, I only have one Stihl Chain saw as I prefer Husky Saws.

I kept the dog's in because I enjoy there company, I may have to put them back out of night patrol.

You got them fine dogs and still have raccoons?

Mine are getting spoiled, My Female is a retired show dog, she did very well untill the age of two, then she grew out of the standard, Is is a very large boned female, She is the one with the tail, My Male I purchased with the intention of doing Schutzhund but Family and work did not allow me enough time to do it properly. THey are both well trained dog's.

I would die for a pup out of them, they are beautiful, I have never been without one here on the farm and never will, my boy is almost 5 he is the third one I have had here sence 1987

Thank you, My Male is very smart and well trained, My Female is very sweet and great with kids, She is very protective of the kids and the home, She has proven it quite a few times and I am very proud of her. They both have there health Clearances Hips,elbows/hear and eyes, But I have no plans to breed.

I lost some more Pheseants, and something has been springing my traps and taking the bait but not getting caught. A friend of mine who traps as a hobby has come over today and we set some pro traps though out the property best part is he is going to keep track of them.
