Caught a possum last night, Still having a hard time with the Weasel/Minks they are taking the bait and springing the traps but running off.

Well last was working and I was heading home to check on things when out of no where a brown streak ran out from side of road and I hit it, I figured I just hit a rabbit but I turn around to check and what I find is Weasel, Dead, I have been trying to trap these things and they keep getting away, So one down who knows how many to go, I hit it right near my house.

I wanted to tell you when you bait your traps put the bait in a small jar with a lid and poke holes in that lid, they will not be able to hall off the bait but they will get trapped trying.
How big is your trap, you know that a coon that is really big can spring a trap while his hind end is sticking out and be able to back out of it if it is to small. just sayen

I have all types and sizes of traps set, Most of teh time the trap isn't even sprung just bait missing. Caught a woodchuck also last night.

You got them fine dogs and still have raccoons?

Zaz,,we have a total of 9 German Shepherds here of which 2 are always in the house with us and the rest are in their kennel runs.We do not allow our dogs to run freely outside unless we are with them.For one thing is their value.The dog kennel is within 30 feet of the back of our home where Pea Palace is more like 150 feet away and in the farthest back corner of the property.I've seen first hand before where a big racoon deliberatly led a German Shepherd into standing water,then jumped on it's head and almost drown the dog.Good thing a 1 1/8" open end wrench was in the tractor toolbox or it could have been the end for that dog.Racoons are viscous and smart and are always cosidered a pest here,not a welcomed type of wildlife.
