1 roo to 3 hens ratio?

So in spring im getting my new chicks, and I wanted to get two roosters, but im only getting 6 hens, will this be ok? Will the roos fight? Thanks!

They will fight... they will be hard on the hens. One rooster is much more than enough for that many hens.

Most say one rooster for 10 to 14 hens... one is probably o.k. for 6, but those hens will get "roughed up".... get some "hen saddles", "hen aprons" when the feathers on their backs start to go.

I have one rooster for 16 hens, and he keeps up well. I tried two... tried to keep one of his lovely offspring and it was "turmoil"... constant running, screaming, raping, chasing, noise. It is much more peaceful since the beautiful young fella is gone.

Ok, one roo it is. So do I get a BR or a SLW roo? I want a BR but I hear they are mean?
 
I have 7 to 5 hens really need to do somthing about that!

Is 5 hens, to 1 roo ok? Chickens and ducks are way differnt!

I had 4 BR roos last year, and 5 Australorp ones...they didn't fight...we rehomed all of them and started over....

My BR were not mean...at all....I have 2 roos now to my 14 girls...no fighting at all...

Ok, thanks so much! Still getting used to this whole chicken thing. Im into ducks right now, but told myself I WILL get a flock of chickens next year. So thats what im doing. Lol!
