1 week old baby chick has some of his feathers plucked out! HELP!

My youngest baby chick was doing fine before i left to go camping for a couple of days and when i got home his feathers around his neck were mostly missing! Will his feathers grow back and what would of caused this

I'm pretty positive they will grow back...it could be related to boredom or overcrowding in the brooder. Both of those are pretty easily fixed

Thank you i have 6 chicks in the brooder (which is made with a rubbermaid ben) do you think it is due to being overcrowded

How big is the bin? And how old are the chicks...also address boredom. Put a mirror, roosts, cat toys, alotta different things in there

It is around 3 ft by 1 and 1/2 ft i will consider putting toys in there.

they are around 1 week old but born at different times and days

How old? I forget the exact dimensions but by a certain age they need 2 sq ft of space per bird and it doubles every week...as does their size. Toys are great. My chicks loved their mirror and even a cardboard box they seemed to play peekaboo in...it was precious

What breed is this chick supposed to be? I don't really see anywhere that shows the feathers have been plucked (damaged skin, swelling, peck marks, etc.) Could this little one be a Naked Neck or similar? Anyway, just keep an eye on her to see that she is eating/drinking and active.

Also, is that cedar shavings in your tub? If it is, then replace those with pine shavings. Cedar is too aromatic for chickens, especially in a small place like a brooder.

Kinda cute...but is its neck supposed to b so red? That's why I thought feather picking
