1 week old chick with bumble foot?

Doing this from an iPad, so sorry if I have missed something (small text, hard for me to read).

Are they limping?

No body seems to be limping but this fella does cry when I touch it. I've called the hatchery with no luck so far. Maybe they aren't as helpful as the store. Some hatchery in Ohio?

Hmmm... I guess I might try warm Epsom water soaks and wrap it with neosporin. I would not start cutting unless it was swollen or limping, but I haven't dealt with many bumblefeet.

Would going to a vet be an idea yet? I just ask because we are lucky in the city and have a several major vets, but one in particular that does everything his practice is amazing and prices are fair. Besides we have several bird specialist and an awesome emergency clinic. Birds especially chickens are very popular over here. I hope all is well for you. That was my one concern about buying chicks from TSC but I did want some good layers so I did and got Amber Links. But my other birds I got from one of our local breeders. I can ask him anything, maybe a local breeder could help you?

I do know one local breeder. I may ask him what he thinks. I called the breeder for these guys and he never answered. Twice. If there's no improvement in the next few days I may swing for a vet. :(

I will try the epsom salt. That's always a good idea. Thanks :)

If you have the resources to see a vet, do it. Most people don't, but for those that can, then share the outcome, we'll all learn from it.

Did you ever find out if this was bumble foot? I have a 1 week old chick with a similar looking sore and I can only find info that it may be from bedding or wire brooder floors, etc.
