1 week old half Silkies but who are their mums? *UPDATE at 7 weeks old*

Update at 4.5 weeks old:

Chick 1 is black all over. The grey bits in the photo are black, its just the light bouncing off. They have a sheen to them. I still think half polish and pullet. Her tail looks very erect and polish to me (unless she is pointing it down!).

Chick 2 has some interesting gold colouring coming in. No idea if it is the start of lacing or mottling or what. Head is feathering out as black and no tail to speak of, which makes me think bantam cochin? And the bold character and thick legs are saying cockerel. But I'm not sure. I don't think this chick has the same mother as the other one because they have different body shapes and tails. So that potentially rules out it being Polish if the other one is Polish.

Father is paint silkie and potential mothers of either are : splash blue laced red wyandotte, mottled pekin/cochin, cuckoo polish, frizzle gold laced polish. Doubt the partridge silkie is the mum because neither are full silkie feathered.

Further update at 7 weeks old. Chick 2 is getting these red patches coming through on the gold. I've a feeling already that this is a cockerel. His feet are bigger than hatchmate and neck thicker. What do you all think?

I'm still a bit stumped as to parentage. He isn't the same shape body or tail as chick 1 who really looks Polish.

Definitely leaning towards boy. He’s pretty!

Thanks! He is the most pretty and friendly out of all of them, which I'm bummed about really as he will have to be rehomed. He is now starting to get shiny neck feathers coming in.

The black one, who we call Dot because she had a tiny white dot on her head as a baby, is starting to get a green sheen on her feathers, which I adore. I'm hoping the dot doesn't mean she is a he. So far no other male signs.

If Dot hatched from a paint rooster and a cuckoo polish, would that produce a barred sex link? Does the head dot (now lost) mean anything?
