3 week old silkie had a drooping wing when it was 1 week old. I noticed some blood coming out from the growing feathers so I thought maybe a feather pin broke and it was hurting. I cleaned it up and wrapped it to body for a week. After a week I removed bandage and the wing was no longer drooping but the feathers didn’t look as great. I did clean it as often as I could while it was wrapped but didn’t want to disturb it so much. It was able to still lift both wings even though the one wing lifted funny. Now at 3 weeks, exactly today, I woke up and that one wing is gone. Detached. I read online chickens can live with one wing but it’s so young. It’s still drinking, eating and running around normally. I just feel bad for it. Is there anything I could do or is this a “let it be” situation.

I knew a leghorn hen that hatched with only half of one wing, she literally only has the humerus of her right wing. She gets around fine. It is hard for her to balance on anything other than the ground, and she can't stabilize herself at all so you do have to make sure she feels secure when you pick her up. She's a sweetheart.
