In the Brooder
Yesterday I found my 1-year old barred rock laying underneath the hanging feeder yesterday. Her eyes were closed. She is a pretty feisty chicken and she never allows anyone to pet her. She allowed me to pick her up and proceeded to just lay in my lap.
I picked up some electrolyte powder from the feed store and gave her some via a syringe. She drank some and also threw some up. I decided to put her in a warm bath just in case she was egg bound... I couldn't tell. Her comb seemed to gain more color after being in the warm bath and she started holding her head up a little bit more.
I segregated her from the rest of the flock in a crate inside the bathroom for the evening and she's still lethargic. The tips of her comb are purple once again. I lifted her up to see if there are any droppings in the crate and there aren't. It also doesn't look like she's attempted to eat or drink anything.
Any suggestions? I've included the pics of what she looked like originally along with immediately after her bath and also currently (as of 130am PST) Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not sure if there's anything I can pick up at the local feed store or what. Thank you!
This is how she looked when I found her..
The pics below are during her bath. It appears the color of the comb is better and it looks redder.
This is her right now... She's breathing and I can see her back going up and down showing the breathing. However the tips of her comb are purple again..
