10 - 11 week old chickens - pullets or cockerels?

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how many pullets and cockerels we ended up with. We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, Honey and Rue, and 4 rare breed bantams. The ones we think are speckled sussex bantams are Tasty and Cinnamon. The ones we think may be barred rock bantams are Dumpling and Drumstick.

We are absolute newbies so could be wrong on the bantams. Any suggestions on determining what genders these birds are? Are we in the right ballpark guessing on the bantam breeds?

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, someone has all boys.... it happens! You could have some late bloomers but for now, pullets.

All pullets and none are bantams. You have a Production Red, two Cuckoo Marans, and two Speckled Sussex

Too big to be bantams? They were labeled as them at the store.

The two black and white ones definitely look like Cuckoo Marans. And the speckled are definitely Speckled Sussex - they are the sweetest, most cuddly of the rock m

Yep. Bantams have larger eyes in comparison with their bodies and different type. Even in pictures it's evident by their built that they're not bantams, despite me not knowing their true size. I'm glad you like your Sussex! I've always wanted a couple, such a pretty breed!

Thank you for the great info! My husband will be excited, he's in love with the Sussex and has really been hoping they are pullets.
