10 month old rooster almost killed a hen

Typically i'm not real quick to say to get rid of a cockerel that is misbehaving. Often it is just youthful hormone-driven exuberance that they will soon outgrow. But in your case my suggestion is to get rid of him now. There are too many strikes against him. At that age he should be doing better. Instead he is getting worse.

Close to a year old, he isn’t having the huge hormone surges of 6 months ago. Of course, we don’t know where in the world you are at, so maybe spring or winter. If spring is around the corner, it could be impacting his behavior a little bit. However, he sounds like a more aggressive temperament and certainly not a gentleman. I vote to re-home him or send to freezer camp.

we have a multi-age flock, including a head rooster. We are seeing better behavior, overall, with the younger males since they have an older male and older hens and pullets to teach them many aspects of proper chicken behavior. It’s too bad this male of yours wasn’t receptive to the older hens teachings.
I'm in Pennsylvania. We're coming up on spring.

Is it possible for you to leave him separated from the flock for a while? Lock him in a bachelor pad for a month or two and make him work for the girls attention, or do you feel like he's beyond saving? If he has a dozen ladies needing saddles then maybe you'd be better off without him.
He's in a bachelor pad now and has been since I found my orpington in bad shape. He can stay there indefinitely, that's not a problem. Will having him separated from the hens make him even nuttier?

Here's a pic of one of her sides (the other has slightly less stitches, but not by much).

My rooster is the Brahma in the foreground of the group photo.

I cant imagine there is much of a market for a nasty rooster as i have little luck finding homes for some really nice behaved roosters every fall. Most get butchered.
Your rooster should not be put upon other people or other peoples hens.
He has had more life than most good roosters get, and he is undeserving.
I am sorry your hens have been injured.
i hope she makes a full recovery.
