I am over 10 weeks old and still don't have my permanent feathers. Forever young?

Will I ever get the real deal????

Cmom, at least your chick has some real feathers on the breast, so hopefully (s)he will eventually make the grade. My poor scraggybum has only baby fluff, and he's the same size as the others (quite big for 10 weeks), just looks smaller because of the lack of feathers.

Momma is stunningly BEAUTIFUL!!! I've never seen a 10 week chick with zero feathers. Hopefully she will grow a few on her body before momma gives her the boot.

All the rest (another 8) have feathered up normally.

Momma hen is a big, placid, Dark Brahma who is broody several times a year.

weird... the only time I have seen that was with one of my GF's uncle's birds, but his are all barnyard mutts, and they have some silky in there somewhere, so we figured it was just some of the silky genetics popping up... never did see how that one turned out, fox got it at about 4 1/2 months...

This feather-challenged guy is Brahma. His baby fluff looks like Blue Partridge Brahma.

The second pic with the long 'bum fluff' does look a bit like a Silkie, but there are no Silkies for miles around.

In all other ways he seems normal. Eats well, keeps up with his colleagues etc. Strange little fellow.
