10 week old silkie gender check.

I had a pullet with streamers and also chest bumping the young roos. I had always thought she has a pullet based on behavior, then the streamers started to develop and the chest bumping began. Had her genetic tested (they use plucked feathers), and she was indeed female. So you truly never know, but I agree with cockerel for your little cutey, comb space and size are what clues me in. :)

You May just be right. I am good with all breeds except this breed, my first silkie a egg gift that hatched this cutie, even if this one crows it has a home no trouble there.

Here are the additional views from other angles. From all of the comments I believe this 11 week old silkie chick may indeed be a cockerel....but what a handsome cockerel he is. Thanks to everyone for your comments and knowledge.

Yep he’s a cockerel! Comb size, crest shape and body shape say boy. The reason he isn’t showing wattles is because he’s bearded. As for the blue earlobes, all silkies get blue earlobes, some can have mulberry coloured earlobes too but it doesn’t mean it’s Male or female 🙂
