10 week old turken male or female?

http://chickensforbackyards.com/ This hatchery sells Turken, and there is only if a minimum of 3! Good prices too! I got my chicks from this hatchery, and they all arrived happy and healthy! They sexed my chicks correctly.
Interesting that on that site, they say their NN boys come in different colors and don't mention the girls.

Thanks everyone for your input! I guess we'll have to wait and see. I've looked at pictures of adult turkens and the females also have very red combs, so I'm just not sure??

Yep, the females get very red, exactly as red as the male.... AFTER they reach maturity and very close to laying. At this age, you already have the real answer and your just in hopeful denial. I know, I've been there!

Not so much in denial, just want to be 100% sure before we find these sweethearts good new homes. These are family pets and my kids love each one of them.

We had a gorgeous polish rooster that we just had to re-home, he was also 10 weeks and crowing around the clock! My kids are still really upset about that, his personality was just the cutest!

Wow, that little guy is fun to look at!

I'm glad you didn't take my hopeful denial comment as mean, certainly wasn't meant to be.

Crazy, my WCBP didn't start crowing until 7 months. But yes, crowing at my house starts around 3:30 am.

I understand kids getting attached... it's very natural. And I am sorry for their sadness when you do have to find new homes.

We always enjoy the cockerels most... until they reach mating age and hormones change them. Older roos are not the same, but young cockerels chase and mate even when the girls aren't interested. Roosters actually will take no for an answer and keep trying to win them over with treats and dancing.

I can see you've worked to get a nice variety of very interesting breeds!

I don't have hope for your boys to be girls... but I do hope for your family that it goes smoothly.

Thank you for letting me play the breed/gender game. It's one of my favorite.

I completely agree! I was in denial with our first batch of chicks and it seems the roosters are always the ones that ooze with personality. I guess the combs on my NN's are just smaller than most males. I've seen them pretty massive on young ones (around 4 weeks old). What do you think about this one? A definite pullet?
