100 Broilers and Fermented Feed Project

I've been feeding them 3x's a day to 3 weeks old or so and then 2x's a day after that. But mine range loose during the day so they dig through leaves and get other food stuff I'm sure during the non feed times.

At the moment (6 weeks I think-have to check) they want food no matter what. Tipped a bucket of feed and picked it clean *just 15 minutes before had cleaned 4 full troughs. Lol. Do not leave feed top too loose!
But they're all still gaining weight. I've been nervous waiting for this "flip death" thing or bad hearts or the other stories I read but they're looking good so far :)

Filled trough they'd clean out in about 15 minutes lol

What's the width and length of your feeders?

We halved 2 inch PVC pipe to make 2, 18"-2ft (have to go down after I eat n check) troughs for the brooder.

Ok. I have 3 feeders in 1 brooder and 1 feeder in the other 2 brooders. One of the feeders is 4 1/2 feet long and 4 1/2 inches wide. That's probably why it's taking them so long to eat the FF. I think I'll only fill up to the 2 feet mark.

With the low temps, I will bringing them all in the house at night and put them in the brooder in the back room and in the morning, allow them to go back to their brooder in the garage.

They are 24".
Ya, you notice as they get used to everything the eating will definitely pick up. I started with a 3 inch PVC single feeder in a brooder and changed brooders Three times before figuring out what worked lol
Started with small box brooder for layer chicks Bahaha waaaay to small.

Then had a huge brooder with a wood bottom and
Single feeder. Was roomy but the feeder was crammed full at feeding time...after a week

Now...we have a wire bottom 2 feeders and made it so the feeder raise up with wire so we can fill them without a mob of peeps.

I add ACV. I also add vitamins for 3 days after arrive since Crook. Her upsidedown head research I did pointed to a vitamin B deficiency...vitamins helped but I dunno if that was the issue...she has a few issues lol

Has anyone put ACV in the water for your meat birds? I'm thinking of add a little bit in.

Really good to add it in the winter, not in the summer. There is something it does in the summer... I can't remember though... I'll get back to you on that...

I use electrolytes (stress aid) in summer on hot days - which would be nothing to you guys.
