100 Broilers and Fermented Feed Project

This weekend is the big day that they go out in the chicken yard.

I mentioned this on Angelicisi's thread and I will mention it here as well.

My poor little runts just let the others run over them to eat and wait on the side until everyone is done. I think I will separate the runts and put them in a brooder by themselves. I'm thinking I may not ever process them. They are just too small. They are the same size and weight as the average chick. I think they are killing themselves because they are not meat birds and they are trying to keep up with the amount of food the other chicks are trying to eat and it's making them sick. They don't look good.

Do you see the irony in ur definition OR A GENETICALLY MODIFIED SOURCE? Yes there is a difference in that gene splicing is more advanced but that doesnt make it evil. I stand on if americans get off their lazy butts and modiy animal intake gmo or not fantastic changes would be seen. if you do away with gmos all you are going to see is mass starvations in the future due to over. population. The genetisists are on the side of reason here
UM... I disagree. The Geneticists are on the side of money In this case. there was a great line in Jurassic park Ian Malcom said "They were so involved with how they could do a thing they didnt think about whether or not if they should." But I have to say now that the deed is done it cannot be un done.

You also sa techiquely the genes have been changed to get the desired result thats why there ate so many breeds of dogs all from the wolf grantef lilies werent spliced but on a DNA level wr are synthetically the same factually speaking so speak santics all you want chicken people aremt smarter than sciemtist amd genetisist
Using selection by trait is the way we have soo many different breeds of dogs chickens cattle corn.... You name it anything that lives around humans and can provide food, fiber, protection, companionship has been modified by Intelligent selection. For instance You select an animal say a chicken who lays a lot of eggs... Whoo boy you wanna have more of those. So you take those eggs and hatch them and select the good layers out of that group.... You are on your way to creating a new breed of chicken that lays alot of eggs. What happens in that process you Breed OUT chickens that go broody. This takes time and has lots of failures Would that chicken survive in the wild? NO. Because she wouldnt hatch her own eggs....

Basic HS biology teaches us ALL animals and plants are made up from the same primortal ooze on a chemical level just in different combinatioms and orders. But some to perpetuate humans are higher beings when were not create mistakenand unfounded fears
I dont even understand those two sentinences.... but if you mean we all came from the same source. I agree

So whether genetic msterial is changed instantly or over 1000s pf years ots still Geneyic Modification you cant cross a lizard with a chicken its pretty plain withpit fanciful explanations
UM they ARE doing it... Crossing animal and vegetable DNA. I cant state specifics but they are using that ability to create super crops. What we dont know is what ""failures"" have gotten out into the Ecology...

I used to work in this industry creating tools for Gene Splicing.... not as a scientist but I worked for scientists, And Physicists. When I found out they were selling the tools to anyone with enough money I was horrified. And very very very glad it was a short term job.

PM me if you want to talk more about it. This list is about Raising Meat chickens and using the benefits of Fermented feed.

All that being said I use any feed available from any source that is reliable. Weather or not its GMO.

I love the kidneys and liver.

I wonder how much blood all of those birds will yield.

Arielle, I just checked out the ingredients in a bag of dog food........ Ooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
So, I guess I'll be keeping the guts. I can feed that back to the animals right?

Which one of your animals polish off the necks and feet? Your dogs?

Blood pudding? I'm scared to ask.

Ok, this is a crazy question but how do I feed the blood back to the animals?

I have friends that make broth from the feet. If I'm only doing a couple birds, they go in the compost pile. Occasionally the Pomeranian will dig one out before it decomposes and it's impossible to get it away from him.
The feathers and guts go in there too, covered by a healthy pile of coop debris.
My killing cone hangs from a post over the first stage compost. My compost bins are huge. I built them for the loader when I had a Bobcat.

I used to eat black pudding (blood sausage) a lot in the UK. I LOVE it. It's pigs blood I think, but mixed with spices, breadcrumbs, pig fat. It is one of those things you grow up eating, and by the time you find out what is in it, you either care, or you don't! It tasted too good for me to care.

I've seen Bizarre Foods too many times where they eat very hardcore blood meals, like sliced clotted blood. I couldn't do that.

My family made blood sausage when I was a kid. I like all that unusual sausage, like headcheese, bockwurst, weisswurst, bangers and kiska.

In high school, I had a teacher that had spent a year with the Maasai in Africa. They ate only raw milk, raw blood and raw beef. Some Maasai tribes also eat vegetables and fruit but not the one he lived with. They would put a tourniquet around the cows neck and a vein would engorge. They would shoot an arrow into the vein and collect the blood in a container. They wouldn't have to kill the animal to procure the blood.
Interestingly, those living the traditional way have the fewest dental cavities and dental of any society in the world and no dental deformities.

x2 Now back to the thread. Getting my set up done and ready for my chickens. I'm going to do the FF with EM-1 so I can use it composting and gardening also.

Using gmo feed to ferment is on point. There seems to be alot of bias against gmos so I was pointing out the obvious. All major industry is money based is football or music evil. Capitalism is American. yes there can and are abused mistakes but thats no reason to stop All progress If it was confusing its because it covers so diverse a subject and that why people dont understand
