Quote: Bee-- can I ask the going rate at your TSC?? Dang these are cute-- and thank goodnes the cute is GONE by 8 weeks and they instead look "yum" !
KG-- glad the 100 didn't totally turn you off! How was the flavor of your dinner?? SOme people report a different, sweeter flavor in a bird fed FF.
Thanks. The flavor was absolutely delicious. With it being skinless, it was not even close to dry. It was juicy and very tender. I guess this is what customers who want smaller birds were talking about. Believe it or not, I'm very satisfied with my 2 and 3 pounders.
So, when I get more broilers, I know the size that I want. If they will be the regular fast growing broilers, I may only keep them 5 or 6 weeks. I don't want anything over 4 pounds. Too much meat for me and the customers who want small birds. So, this will be a win win for me and my pocket book as far as the feed.
I'm glad you are finding what works for you!! And the paying customers!!
As long as the feed prices are climbing, the cornish x can't be beat for cheapest meat.
