$100 chickens - is this for real?

I have some Serama chicken but I am not sure what class they are since I don't have a scale, does anyone know what class they are by their height?

The very most I've ever sold a bird for is $35.

They were both purebred pullets and they looked spectacular. One had just laid her first egg. (Middle left)

The craigs list ad doesn't sound written by anyone who actually has quality birds. It sounds more like those "as seen on tv," come-ons. They are just pushing the "novelty" factor, house pet, very small etc.

There are plenty of seramas to be had on the BYC auction listings, and they seem to be more in the $ 5.00 to $ 15 range. I may be totally wrong but, I think the established breeders offering show stock (not culls) probably have a waiting list for their stock and don't need to resort to Craigs list.

I once sold some culls, and later found them on craigslist being advertised with a bunch of lies in the add. The birds were nearly over c class, and they were advertised as a's. Im not sure if she ever sold them, they looked more like chunky oegbs, or japanese.

There is a sage comment which says "An object is worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it"....just about says it all.

Work on the principle "What is this bird/car/dress etc. worth to me?....." then you only ever pay what you consider to be reasonable.

Typical ad hoping to hook a sucker (not many Seramas in US???) It is too many now and most of them are junk.

When I read ads like this sometimes I can not resist and I ask "Do they lay golden eggs"? It is very effective to stir their blood LOL.

Seramas can be worth that much (or 3x that much!), but only you can decide if they're worth that much to you.
