$100 chickens - is this for real?

The most I have ever seen chickens sell for was $5,000 for a trio of Payton Democrat gamefowl. This was back when cockfighting was still legal in the US and these were from proven birds. The paint Silkies recently sold for $1,300 and Hattrick can easily fetch between $700-$1,200 for a top of the line Silkie.

Holy Smokes. I can't believe people spend that kind of money on chickens. Wow, I mean, well, do you ever make that money back? Or is it not about the money? I don't understand spending hundreds on a chicken like that. Maybe it's me.
