100% hatch rate on shipped eggs!

Well then that doesn't sound too bad, so hopefully it will work as well for you as it did for me.
I hope so

Actually a lot of places advise not to use eggs beyond day 7.

I rarely have an egg over 10 days hatch.

UC Davis says to store no more than one week.

A Dutch study showed that eggs stored more than 2 days have reduced hatchability. 0.2% loss each day up to 7 days. Beyond 7 days loss of hatchability increases to 0.5% each day.

This is a quote from the PoultrySite

"Hatchability holds reasonably well up to seven days, but declines rapidly afterward. Therefore, do not store eggs more than 7 days before incubating. After 3 weeks of storage, hatchability drops to almost zero. Plan ahead and have a regular hatching schedule to avoid storage problems and reduced hatches."

This is from Brinsea

Time in Storage

It is generally considered that eggs should not be kept for more than 7 days prior to incubation. Beyond this time chances of hatchability decrease considerably. Vitamins decay and membranes breakdown in time and so the embryo can often suffer early mortality.

I bought a dozen (chicken) eggs from a gas station that were 9-11 days old & kept in the refrigerator for that duration of time, 10 hatched & all developed!
It may not be ideal but there's still hope (=

Great info!
When I cracked open the eggs. The chicks were fully developed and were a little gooey not really sticky. They looked perfect in ever way. I did notice the air sacs seem small so maybe the humidity IS too high and I'm drowning the little ones.

I will upgrade to a better incubator for my peafowl and keep this Hova-Bator for my quail, pheasant and chickens.

So glad I have a place to turn for advice and encouragement!

Have a great weekend!

I LOVE my reptipro incubator if you're looking to upgrade without spending a bunch. All digital, forced air, cabinet style (I can fit up to 12 emu eggs in it), keeps good temp, I could go on & on. It's around $150 also, so with peafowl eggs or in my case emu, it was well worth the money to me...

I am thinking about buying a second incubator, if you don't mind my asking, is it a reptipro 6000, and if so how do you monitor humidity...or don't you?

Also wondering how easy/hard it is to sterilize in between hatches? Thanks!

There's always going to be some bad reviews with anything that's sold but as a personal opinion I'm very happy with mine & the company seems to be supportive. I started a Reptipro hatch-a-long thread a while back in the hatching eggs forum if you want to do a search. There's a lot of good info there from people on here that actually have one as well as quick fixes to some small issues that come up (like slick flooring, etc). I have the Reptipro 5000 but they've since come out with the 6000. I use a reptile hygrometer in mine & it takes very little water to get it up in it.

Also it's VERY easy to clean. The entire interior is slick white plastic so I spray in some bleach water, let it sit, then wipe it away. The fan can sometimes get down feathers in it (although it hasn't caused me any problems) so every now & then I used canned air to clean it out.

Easy clean out is always a plus, I don't actually let anything hatch in my hovabator, they all go into a plastic hatcher for that because it is so much easier to bleach out and I am lazy.

How many Pea eggs will it accommodate?
