100 YEAR OLD DUCK EGGS!! Pictures.....

Good chinese porridge is AMAZING. BAD chinese porrridge is DISGUSTING. It is pretty much rice and anything else they have for kitchen scraps. I can't wait until my sister inlaw is here to cook some good chinese food for me.

Chewing on feet is yummy! The animal presented as a whole on the table let's you appreciate that a life was given up so you could eat.

I *love* porridge. I like it savory, but like it sweet even more. I like it really runny with milk- real milk or sweetened soy milk. If with real milk, you can also add sugar or honey. Some people make it with coconut milk as well. You can add dry or fresh fruit to the sweet kind, which is really good. The savory kind can have just about anything in it, but often will have egg or meat of some sort in it. You can make it with just the water from off the rice or add a stock made from any meat stock or vegemite even (which we use a lot).

As far as balut goes, there is a lot of call for balut. I could make a full time income selling balut if I were to expand into it. I have been asked several times to provide it. I had someone approach me a couple of years ago that asked if we could provide several hundred dozen per month.

I will be offering balut as soon as we get the farm started.

I never saw orange chicken, or sweet and sour chicken, or general tso chicken, which are my favorite "chinese" restaurant foods. Almost nothing was deep fried.

There was however a lemon chicken which was delicious.

I don't think I had any corn syrup in any of the dishes I ate while in China.
