This was one of the selling points in getting ducks instead of chickens. I've had some people tell me their chickens eat slugs but most of them won't touch them.

46. They don't need much in the way of shelter--a dog run & a few bales of straw suffice in most climates.
47. The way they chuckle and laugh and peep (if they're babies) when they're happy.

49. Watching big ducks dive and pop up under the other ducks, which starts them diving, and by the end everyone left in the pool is diving and swimming and running out and running back in, and there's ducks popping up all over the place!

Where I live, we have the huge snails used in escargo all over the place. When it rains I can go outside and pick up dozens from the sidewalk as treats for my duck. Crunch 'em up, and she will eat it all up - even without butter and garlic.

51. I love that they sound like a group of little old men arguing as they stroll around looking for bugs and chatting each other up.

I also second #19. I love the quack laugh! It's infectious.
