Lola, an Easter Egger who was supposed to be a girl did his first crowing today !!!! It sounded pretty pathetic and the girls didn't seem to be very impressed

But Lola aka Larry is beautiful and we are going to keep him as long as he stays nice. I almost ordered an Easter Egger Roo when I ordered the chicks but decided against it because of our two little boys. Maybe it was just meant to be and Larry turns out to be a nice Roo

Congrats! My Columbian Wyandottes are the same age & I can't wait for the roos to crow. I have two, one I ordered & one that slipped in! Most any roo I have had has crowed at 12 weeks and they will be that on Monday!!! Here's hoping mine aren't far behind. Have fun.

I too have just discovered that I have not one but two Roo's... Pearl is now Earl and Gurtie is Cocky.. Earl is very vocal but I have not heard Cocky yet.
I am still trying to figure out what to do. I really just wanted hens... and I cannot have a rooster so I went from 6 hens.. lost one to neighbors dog, week ago. and now down to
my three hens... I am reading up on introducing new hens to my brood... they are going on 20 weeks... EE. I am quite attached and do not want to to seperate the group or make a decision as to which to keep an such.. this is my first time chicken raising...still getting my head around this!
