I don't know what I was thinking when I bred all seven of my doe rabbits on the same day! My 10 month old funky colored doe (which up until this point I didn't know if it was a male or a female!) delivered 11 healthy squirmy fat babies last night, and all six of the others are building their nests and pulling fur! Here's hoping for large healthy litters for all of the girls!

I don't have a picture yet, the mom won't get out of the way long enough!

I'll update as we have more popples!

Its really good to breed mutiple does at once. I like to breed at least 3 at a time. Incase I need to foster or something happens with large litters or small litters.

Congrats! Baby bunnies are the best!

I always breed at least 3, but this is the first time I've ever had all 7 due on one day. My dad used to raise meat rabbits, and he would have 25-30 all due on one day! Having 7 girls is enough stress on me for now, lol!

My Rex girls are in the process of having theirs, 1 to one of them so far, and at least 4 to the other so far!

Total # of kits so far is 16!

Very neat! At least the mom rabbits typically know what to do, so you shouldn't have to worry too much!

What do you use these rabbits for? I had a surprise litter when I bought my first two rabbits. I had never put the male and female together, so she must have been bred before I bought her. It was exciting to have baby rabbits but it was difficult to find good homes for them, especially since they were mixed. After that I told myself I wasn't going to breed unless I got myself some nice quality rabbits! I haven't bred since, but I would love to get back into it!

All except the rex are for meat. The rex will be sold as pets, unless they don't sell by 16 weeks old.

It's really hard not to play with the meat rabbits when they're small and cute, but once they learn what their nails are for, it makes it easier on me to send them to freezer camp. I still have scars from last year. This year, I'll be getting my fiance to stitch up some leather sleeves for my forearms.

PS - I'm going to eat lunch, then go check on them again!

We are up to 27 so far! 11 from the first, 1 from the second (she is a pet), 5 from the third, and 10 from the fourth. Still waiting on three of them!

I raise rabbits for show and I dont think I could do meat. Its hard enough to cull as it is!

Have any pictures?!

I don't have any photos yet, but I still have to go out for the afternoon check!

I have Rex, English Spot, New Zealand White, and one Californian.

It took me a while to get used to the idea of doing them in, but I have found a way to do it where they don't struggle, they are eating a treat, and it's over in an instant. I always thank them for giving their life so that I can afford food for the others, and for feeding us.

PS - I do sell some as pets, but they have to be picked out before they are 10 days old so that I can handle them enough to tame them down.
