11 week naked neck a roo??

Is this a roo? has a little larger comb and red? They were suppose to be all pullets.

so the comb being that big wouldn't make it a roo? the other 4 have almost nothing. this one though not large is bigger than the other 4. That is why I thought maybe a roo. Will this breed get in the pointed saddle feathers if it is a roo? What age does that happen?

I never could judge using the comb as an identifier... I have decided that I have a naked neck roo... pretty much the same color as yours with a really auburn top knot on his head (thus the name Carrot Top or Rotty) I came to the onclusion of his being a roo due to his being more stockily built then the others and also having searched liked crazy for indicators the really red face seemed to me the most prominate feature in all the neaked neck roo pictures I could find. Yours, like mine, has developed that very red face feature... Almost as if someone has dunked their heads in very hot scalding water up to the beaks Yes, this could be just waddle development but watch closely and I bet you will see that dark red spread past the waddles, further up the sides of his face. Yours already has a deep red patch up there by it's eye in the first pic.
I say roo!
ETA But I am no expert! I thought I would have a lighter colored Dominique hen and that would be kool but guess what? yup the sweetest roo ever!

One of my nn's has a largish comb and wattles. Her comb always tended to be larger and redder than the other nn. I kept waiting for her to crow so I would know for sure! I have a friend who has quite a few nn's, and the boys are pretty obvious by 12-14 wks, and I do remember seeing the pointed saddle feathers on them relatively young. Its so much easier seeing them mixed in a group and having more to compare too. Wish I could be of more help!

I was having the hardest time trying to figure out if my NN was a roo. It was the only one in a mixed batch from McMurray sexed as hens. It got red in the face and I declared it a roo but then it never progressed and the rest of it looks henish now at 21 weeks. I figure it would have crowed by now if it were a roo. So I have now declared it a hen again. Everybody else was easy to figure out by about 12 to 15 weeks or so but until that NN lays an egg I am still not sure.

Well now that one looks close to mine comb and neck color maybe it is a hen. I guess like you I will wait until it lays an egg or crows!!
