Hi I have a 11 week old americanna... The older she gets the worse the beak gets the bottom grows out to the side and the top is straight but hooked looks more like a beak from a hawk or eagle..... Is there anything I can do? She is always eating which tells me shes not getting enough. Size wise she looks good but while the others are out scratchin she is still at the feeder eating.......Can you trim beaks to straighten it out???? or just let it go? please help:(

I have got an EE rooster with a similar beak (if I read it right). I file the top of his beak and line up the top and bottom to make sure they meet as best as possible. It's not as bad as it was when he was younger. Use deeper dishes so that she can scoop up a good amount of food instead of pecking it out- I also hand feed treats to my guy throughout the day, just because. Good luck!

Thats a crossbeak. Just watch her to be sure she can eat/drink, make sure she doesnt hurt herself or get pecked by anyone. I had a silkie with a crossbeak, but she drowned because I wasnt at home one day to watch her

We had a sweet little guy like that. It got harder and harder for him... Eventually we... *gulp* had to kill him, but he might have lived even so. We felt it was the nicest thing to do for him.
