11th Annual Easter Hatch a Long 2020

I picked up 100# of chick starter. I hope they hatch.

I've heard letting them hatch in an egg carton, point down is good for detached cells.

I like to hatch all mine that way. Even normal ones.

Candled the eggs tonight, they’ll be at 80 hours of incubation.

Candled with a powerful light and can’t see any development at all, just the yolks swishing around in the eggs.

It’s still early and people say you won’t see anything at all at 80 hours but I’m not hopeful.

I think they’re all infertile.

I’m still giving them a few more days, it’s just after when I candled with my last hatches I usually would have at least seen a small sign there was something in them. I’m just frustrated

Lost the little while I cleaned the coop heating pad shut off she got col warmed up in my pocket then put 125 heat lamp went to clean she was gone when I came back in

Same eggs from the same hens, just a new male. They’re Silkies

I tried it with a hen I wasn’t showing and it didn’t make any difference. He’s still mounting them but he just breeds their backs and that’s it. Don’t know how I can correct that, he’s been doing it for the last 3 months
