12.5 hrs without power and counting. Looks like it’ll be out all day, maybe even into tomorrow.
Incubator without power for 10.5 hrs already, I’ve been keeping them as warm as possible. With the windows fogged up and blankets covering, but I see pips! Fingers crossed some of them survive.

I hope they all go ahead and hatch okay! And also that power comes back on for you soon!

Do you have propane stove to make hot water bottles? Not to close to eggs. At this point it won’t take much heat to keep them going.
Or under shirt if not too many. And of course if it’s not too long.
Being with PG&E utilities for so long I’ve learned the hard way. Wife saved 4 of the ones I didn’t think would make it a few years back. Power went out at the end of hatch and I had removed all eggs that weren’t hatching. Put them on the fireplace in a carton getting ready to take them outside. She says can’t you hear them peeping. I don’t hear that sound. So she kept them warm for about 6 hours when the power came back on. They hatched in an hour after being put back in incubator.
Costco had one that runs on both propane and gas!
Where was Costco when I needed them 20 years ago. :lau
Bresse do hatch well!
Aside from the roosters being mean I like them.

I may have just bought a thing... or 4 😂.
I was playing with the idea of crossing my Welsh Harlequin boys with Cayuga girls, to get some fun colours, and someone local had these (she had 2 Cayuga hens, a Rouen hen, and a mixed hen in with a Cayuga drake), hatched yesterday, so I inquired and as luck had it they were in her truck, and she was on the road 2 minutes away from my house... who was I to deny fate 🤷‍♀️ she brought them straight to my door.

This ones eyebrows kill me.

It's beautiful!

I've already hatched a plan to buy ducklings and sneak them in the incubator if these eggs don't hatch. I hope I can come by some as easily if needed.

Doing test run on my hatcher and I cannot get my hatcher up to 70% humidity. I have the water wells all full and a sponge in a small basket soaked to the point there is water in the basket and I can only get it up to 65%. Any suggestions on how to get humidity up some more? Should I put the vent plugs back in (even though that eliminates most of the fresh air for circulation)?
Is this humidity for duck eggs. Have you calibrated the hygrometer. That amount of water should have it up to 80 plus
I usually run without vent plugs. In fact I don’t where they are anymore.

How long has it been running like this? It takes time for the humidity to rise if the water was cold when added.

For chicken eggs. The hydrometer is one I pulled from my Hovabator that was spot on with my other hydrometer. This is my 4 year old farm innovators incubator that I just replaced with the Hovabator...I have always had trouble maintaining the humidity in it. In the past I have put the plugs back in to get it higher, but wonder if the lack of air circulation contributed to my lower hatch rates.
