I have to wait too but at least I get chicks early to tie me over
I actually got some farm store chicks last week, so I’ve got my chick fix for the next few weeks while we wait.

I love mine! I had one cockerel initially that was ungentlemanly with the ladies, but he was the exception, I think. And even he was a sweetheartwith us, just was a one woman kinda guy who thought all of the others should be removed from their love nest. Lol They're a great breed though. We've enjoyed them a ton.Everything I have read about them sounds wonderful! I think they are the ones I am most excited to hatch out out of all the eggs I bought. Crossing my fingers that I get a good hatch this time around. I ordered a new incubator Monday - hoping to move the eggs out of my current one and into the new one as soon as it gets here and I have it tested out. Upgrading from a Farm Innovators to a Hovabator.![]()
This is awesome! Have you personally hatched them?Don’t know about Walmart but the fertile eggs at Trader Joe’s works real well.
I have bantams I bought 3 weeks ago too plus 3 week old ducklings that I hatched. I also have 9 chicks that are the ages between 3 weeks and 5 weeks.I actually got some farm store chicks last week, so I’ve got my chick fix for the next few weeks while we wait. View attachment 2062125

I'm going to some daymaybe when this stuff calms down
My curiosity just about has me ready to try it out too. What's the next big hatch a long for BYC? I'll get Trader Joe eggs and see if they work![]()
Dare I say it?Just started incubating my third batch of eggs. My hatch ratio isn't very good, but I'm learning. I have a still air incubator that I rotate the eggs. I really need a NICE cream legbar rooster. This is my third and only 1 of them was any good, the others attack me as though I'm a threat. I love the breed but might change my mind if I can't get another decent one. The one nice one I had died of either heart or wet fowl pox issues. He was sweet enough that he'd go between his brother and i when he went to attack me. Wish me luck. I've got at last a dozen eggs in there.
Staggered hatches are so fun! I did that for a year straight when I was hatching for local breeders....I only missed a hatch date once or twice!I have a staggered hatch too. Will be using the same Bator until it's lock down for the EHAL Eggs..then they will go into my still Bator. The others will stay in the air until lock down. By then, my others will be hatched. Then I'll use the still again... love the still for hatching. The air doesn't dry out the membranes while pipped. It does tend to happen in the air bators.
I can't get to Trader Joe's right now, but I can probably in a few weeks... MaybeMy curiosity just about has me ready to try it out too.![]()
Did you look under the mattress?Gosh darn it, my 5-year-old lost my bazillion-lumens flashlight that I use for candling. We've looked everywhere. Now I am stuck with just a wimpy normal flashlight. Sigh...at least my eggs are white.
