I decided to take a peek, and I was right, it is malpositioned. :(

I’ve got good news and bad news on my eggs. 3 weeks ago, our Japanese bantam mix went broody. We gave her 5 eggs to sit on over 2 day so we could try for Easter babies. 2 were hers, 3 from other hens. I was slightly worried about the bantam eggs because the rooster is also the father of that hen. A week in I candled, and 3 were fertile. Today was day 19 and 20, so I checked on the eggs this afternoon. All three fertile eggs had hatched, but unfortunately the two that were from the bantam eggs didn’t make it.
The good news is, the third, out of a RIR egg, is doing well and is adorable. Meet Littlefoot.

I peeked at my lockdown Silkied Bantam Cochin eggs that are on day 20. I thought it was a great opportunity to show how much the air cell changed from day 17 to day 20 as the air cell draws down for hatch.

I also don't think the lone regular bantam Cochin egg is any good. I put it in lockdown because it was the only viable bantam Cochin (that wasn't silkied) but it looks like it quit.

EDIT to clarify, the first image looks good and I expect to see an external pip once I get up in the morning. The second image is the one that I think quit.

Is it moving at all?

The second image? I didn't take the egg out yet. Just the candling image you see. The first one definitely looked like it was moving and possibly internally pipped but I try not to move the eggs at this stage if I can help it. I may take it out and give it a closer look instead of waiting. I'm not usually this impatient but I felt this way during my last hatch too. I think quarantine is going to my head. :gig
