12+ Barnyard mix Large Fowl and Bantam Eggs
Up for bids are 12+ eggs from my partially free-ranging flock. I say partially because most of them are free-range, but some are also penned with birds not of their breed.
For example, I have 2 barred rocks, a bantam cochin, a bantam cochin/silkie, and an Old English Game LF in the same pen with my Black Copper Marans. Then I have a pen consisting of bantam Old English (1 mottled roo, 1 blue roo, 1 black roo, 2 black hens), bantam cochins (blue roo, splash hen), and some hens who are bantam Old English and D'uccle mixed.
Then, of course, are the yard birds. In the 'yard bird' mix I have another barred rock, a white leghorn, some Easter Eggers (blue and green egg layers), some Old English Game LF, 1 white langshan, and 1 black cochin. These are all Large Fowl and are all hens. The Large Fowl free-range roosters are a barred rock, 2 Old English LF, 1 white leghorn mix, and several Old English & cochin mixed roosters.
Bantam free-rangers consist of mostly Old English Games, though there are a few d'uccles (mille fleur) and some bantam cochins. There are also some hens who are mixed.
I have no idea of knowing who lays what egg except for the Easter eggers, barred rocks, white leghorn, and my golden lakenvelders, as their eggs are very distinct.
Pure breeds are highly possible with these eggs. You could possibly hatch pure Old English LF (wheaten, blue wheaten, or blue wheaten sport <splash>), pure Barred Rock, pure mille fluer d'uccle, or pure Old English Game bantam (blue, black, splash, brassyback, red quill, or combination colors). I've not penned my mottled bantam cochins up yet for the season, so you could possibly get some pure eggs from these since Mr. Mottled Cochin (aka 'Frannie') is very protective of his ladies.
Obviously, I have no way of knowing which roos breed with which hens, so it is possible to hatch LF/bantam crossed chicks, but that's half the fun of getting barnyard mixes, you never know what will pop out!
Shipping is based on your zip code plus $2 to cover materials and fees. If you would like to double your order or have any specifications such as 'only LF eggs' or 'only bantam eggs', just let me know. I get about 20 eggs daily right now from the 'mixed/yard' birds, so a double order is not impossible. However, I do have more bantam than LF, so order size would be dependent on the type of eggs you desire.
Due to postal handling and your incubation techniques, I cannot guarantee your hatch. What I can guarantee is that you will receive fresh, fertile eggs suitable for hatching, at least the number of eggs ordered. I rarely have breakages and always send extras. What this means is if you order 12 eggs you will receive at least 12 fresh, fertile eggs that arrive unbroken for you to hatch. If for some reason you receive less than the amount ordered of unbroken eggs I will replace them provided you pay shipping.
Any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!
