I have a Black & white Polish that seems lethargic, a bit wobbly and one eye is pretty much closed with the other one opening and closing. Was fine yesterday. Other chicks in brooder (3 Polish, 7 BCM's) are fine. I don't see any bloody poop. The chick doesn't seem to be eating or drinking on its own and is staying to itself. Am I going to lose it or is there something I can do?

I'm going to buy a vitamin supplement tomorrow if the local feed store carries it. Wondering if it could be Vitamin A or B1 deficiancy after reading a bit. Hopefully not Marek's but there's no shaking and the head is upright. I keep the brooder clean. I still would appreciate input as I'm completely new to raising chicks.

I had one go down on its haunches and then the foot curled. It was a vitamin deficiency but it was never lethargic. I would start wtih that but would probably go ahead and get meds for treating cocci just in case you need it. The sooner you treat it the better.

The chick died but no one else in the brooder is showing any symptons. I thought chicks had to be treated for cocci when just a day old. My chicks are two weeks old now. Isn't it too late?
