Up for auction: 12 eggs from my original 'fluffy' male (hatched from Jubaby's eggs) and his pure blue/black Ameraucana ladies.

The shipping fee will be based on your zip code and whether you want insurance or express mailing instead of regular priority shipping.

Eggs will ship on 2/28 (Monday) or 3/1 (Tuesday) so payment needs to be made at the end of the auction. Paypal only please.

Please also note that even as carefully as your eggs will be shipped, we cannot guarantee that there will be no breakage in transit. We also cannot guarantee the percentage of your hatch as the incubators temperature and humidity are very variable. Even with this outcrossing, these birds are still very difficult to hatch.

Please note - these are not Ameraucana/Silkie/EE crosses. Jubaby hatched these unique birds from pure Ameraucana eggs and I in turn, hatched mine from her stock. Somewhere, very far back in these birds' genetics, they ended up being carriers for h (hookless), the same gene responsible for the feathers on Silkies. These birds that Jubaby, myself, and a handful of others have hatched retain their hookless feathers while having none of the other Silkie traits (black skin, extra toes, vaulted skulls). They appear, with exception to their feathers, to be normal pure Ameraucanas. This is what makes these birds so unique, and such a pleasure to raise.

I have paired my 'fluffy' male with good quality pure Ameraucanas from Pips&Peeps line to improve their egg color and hatch viability. You will hatch 75% blue and 25% splash chicks, all will have smooth/normal feathers and be 'fluffy' carriers.

For more information on these birds, please see the What's wrong with their feathers? thread.

Thanks and Happy Bidding!!

Black would be so striking!!! The black roosters from the "hen's side of the family" were especially impressive with their green and purple iridescence. There won't be any black fluffy birds until two blue F1s are mated together - and even then, only 25% would be fluffy, with 50% smooth carriers and another 25% smooth non-carriers. (Colors will = 50% splash, 25% black, 25% blue). These birds really like to be difficult don't they?

There will likely be another auction in April/May.

Don't mind the blue rooster, he was sold 2.5 months ago.

Do notice the grass sticking out of the fluffy rooster's mouth. Perfect Gentleman.
