I should try to get better pics...my digital camera is one of those where it takes a second for the camera to "click" for the picture, and so by the time it takes the pic, the bird has moved from where I wanted to get the pic in the first place. Frustrating!

Chevis - I actually just told my hubby that we need to get the roo and a few girls weighed - I'll work on that tomorrow & post results. The rooster is only 8 months old, and Jerseys put size on their frames the first year, then fill out more the 2nd year, so he's got some growing to do.

Hennypenny - yes, I only have one flock of Jerseys, so your boy is out of this breed pen.

Alright, I just got back from the barn after getting the weight and a few measurements for my roo. All of my hens were either in the nest box or waiting for one, so I didn't want to disturb them. So, here are some quick stats on my roo, Bertuzzi:

He is now 8 months old:

Weight: 10.8#
Height: 28"
Width across back: 11"
Diameter of leg at thinnest point: .78"

Wes, you can pick up one of the black cockerels from my last hatch, if you like! Then again...it's a whole lot of fun to hatch, too!
